As for my never supporting more rightist positions in my posts, I do it just for you. It's more fun watching--what's the phrase?--"your head explode". I'm not about to give you the satisfaction of thinking you've convinced me of something I knew all along, long before I met you.

If it makes you feel any better, when I argue politics with my cousin Red Robert, the positions are reversed and I even sometimes use some of your arguments. After a while, Bob gets the hint and the subject gets changed to sex, drugs and rock and roll or other things intellectuals like us talk about. No chance of that happening here, though.

Not only are my politics not as far left as you seem to think they are, they take up much less of my mental activity than they seem to do yours. However, I don't want to mislead you, I am proudly sailing on the port tack, but more for cultural and psychological reasons than ideological ones. Basically, I'm not so much pro-left as I am anti-right.
I feel about the poster boy of the right, the businessman, about the same way I feel about lawyers: we can't live without them, and some of them are even nice guys, but as a rule I don't trust them.
