If something came from the Right with a shot pattern this wide (to use Robert's parameters, the equivalent would be Newt Gingrich on "Face the Nation" spouting the "Obama is a Muslim" meme) every liberal here would assume this was coming right out of Republican Party headquarters, if not Karl Rove himself.
