Bud Day was in prison with McCain, in the same damn cell. He might have at least as much right to an opinion on this issue as those Kerry supporters who served with Kerry and whose statements were thus considered absolutely unassailable by the Left.

It's entirely possible that your side going to drown on this one, caught in the delusion that everybody in America has the same cynical opinions of the military that they do.

Obama's credentials in this area are zero. That may not be a showstopper--some good presidents had no military experience. But I don't recall any of them ever shooting down their opponent's military experience as being of no consequence, or even a negative.

Democrats reloading the "Swift Boat" meme artillery isn't going to help. A lot of people remember that issue differently than the DNC and the Daily Kos do.
