if 'pure' science were equivalent to Crime Scene Investigation
and the Legal Process, the Oort Cloud hypothesis would suffer
the same fate as a murder trial without a visible corpse uncovered
to link the defendent to the crime:
The Oort Cloud hypothesis would be thrown out of court for lack of evidence.
True science requires visual evidence and or reproducable results.
The Oort Cloud hypothesis suffers from a lack of both.
Yes, it's nice that the Oort Cloud hypothesis explains a lot of things.
BTW, so did the Geocentric cosmology 2000 years ago.
And so did the caloric theory of heat 200 years ago.
And so did the aether hypothesis for the propogation of light 150 years ago.
You could hope for visual evidence for the Ooort cloud theory.
But...to hope for something that you don't see?...that sound like...
F-A-I-T-H.

That's nice, but...
The whole thread (35 posts)
- Does the Oort Cloud actually exist?
- re: Does the Oort Cloud actually exist?
- Good question...
- re: Does the Oort Cloud actually exist?
- Before you carry on...
- Then you need to explain the comets with orbits...
