Kuyper belt objects Oort cloud

Pluto was discovered by chance in 1930...The other KBO's from 1992 on (Jewitt and Lu).
The Oort cloud is 1 lightyear distant and there's simply far too much space between those very small and very poorly illuminated objects for our instruments to detect them.
