kind of like Voyager and predictions of volcanoes on Io
Just before the Voyager missions got to Jupiter, a science paper came out that predicted volcanoes on Io due to tidal forces. The authors got a nice feather in their cap when a testable prediction was verified.
So now here's one more simulation that'll be shortly tested by Kepler. It'll be right, or not. I think we can wait until Kepler before drawing any conclusions.
