And to think all this came about during Conservative administrations, the party that used to have the reputation of being able to manage an economy and win a war. Ever since the Republicans made the decision to court the Jerry Springer audience as a political constituency, they have become the party of tax and lend. But not only did this give them the political power of the Reagan and Bush eras, it proved to be very profitable in sheer greedy commercial terms. They bought the booboisies' vote with borrowed money, and now the time has come to pay the bills.
Of course, it's not conservative principles that are at fault here. If our leaders had acted as true conservatives this wouldn't have happened. But conservative politicians don't allways follow conservative principles, do they? A political philosphy that teaches the idea that economic and financial success is the primary indicator of civic virtue, personal achievement, and social worth, will inevitably attract those that are ready to sacrifice the best aspects of their ideology on the altar of their greed.
