you would know I DON"T believe speculators are the cause of these fluctuations.
If you had read my post (the one you responded to) more carefully, you might realize I believe the fluctuations are caused by inherent instabilities in the market, chaos theory, if you like.
And if you had read between the lines, you might have guessed that I believe that speculators try to take advantage of these fluctuations, perhaps even aggravate them, but they don't cause them. And sometimes they get burned, too.
