I stand by my analysis.

Obama picked a working class roots, experienced, Washington insider and old-timer to round out his youth and inexperience. McCain picked a young, fresh, attractive face to counter the fact that he is old, experienced, and a Washington insider and old-timer. Each complements the other, so the symmetry of the two campaigns is eerily similar, even after both sides had railed precisely against the properties they sought in a VP. The only difference is that Biden is much more likely to deliver swing voters than Palin is, although she will bring in the gun and Bible crowd (who were going to vote for McCain anyway).

As for her provoking former Hillary supporters to vote Republican, that just goes to show you how far out of touch the Republican party is with people who are not part of their social circle and economic class.
