It isn't so much...

...that McCain's strategists are genius or that Palin and McCain are "great" - rather it is that their opposition hasn't offered up much. Soundbyte wise they are Pelosi & Reid redux, anti-Bush this, no 12 years term...blah blah blah.

Sure McCain is an exploiter who exploits his service and POW years. That's a given. But, like it or not, it's a more compelling story than Obama's and makes better copy.

Palin's story too is more interesting than Biden's.

The DNC with Obama & Hillary seemed more exciting than Bush & Cheney. Now that it is Obama/Biden the new car smell is gone, the squeaks and rattles are starting to appear and the buyers are second-guessing their initial impression. They realize a smooth-talking salesman conned them a bit.

Meanwhile, a new model pulls up in the next lane, new car smell emerges out the window in abundance and the models lines are more appealing.

It all makes perfect sense.

I always knew Summer would someday see the light.
