To the best of my knowledge, she isn't trying to control what fats I can eat, what car I can drive, how big my toilet should be, or a hundred other things where someone tries to force their own ideas on me.
Elitism is the belief that one is, inherently, better than "those other people." It's a short trip from there to controlling "those other people" for their own good.
For sure, this applies to some rich people too (I can think of a few), but it applies to one hell of a lot more people in the political realm. Unfortunately, political systems tend to select for this trait.
