Relax.

Trying to spur a political epiphany is hard work. It would be easier to build a magnetic bottle for a fusion reactor.

The views are deeply etched by years of experiences, arguments, personal dislikes, jealousies, resentments and antagonism between family members, etc. Getting them to change their name would probably be easier.

The older the subject the more inclined to rigid views. Take a cue from the left and teach the young. Explaining politics to the youth is far more rewarding as one helps them see the bigger picture. They can evaluate left values and right values. If the teacher is skilled they can easily see for themselves the dichotomies and non sequiturs of leftist goals and methods.

A book for young students: The Romance of Capitalism by Donald E. Cooke and published by John C. Winston Company in 1958.

Cooke actually wrote children's books. And he realized that the left was starting an intense campaign of indoctrination after the war. He wrote the Little Wolf Slayer, Powder Keg, Valley of the Rebellion and The Silver Horn of Robin Hood.

It talks just as freely about the exploiters of capitalism alongside the way democratic government made it the hope of the world.

It's, naturally, unbelievably scarce. Librarians were trashing it back in the fifties when it first appeared. I imagine someday copies will be worth more than a Heinlein 1st edition. It will probably never be reprinted.

Anyways, just thought I'd give you something to think about before you get too ticked off at their inability to even try to perceive.
