The conservative cover story for the financial debacle is already starting to take shape, apparently on this board, even before the GOP establishment puts it officially into motion! You saw it here first, folks.

It's a lurid tale of welfare queens, unwed mothers and illegal alien condo flippers and their bolshevik allies in government and banking constructing an elaborate web of socialist legislation to pervert the financial markets with poisonous regulations. The brave entrepreneurs and free marketeers have put up a gallant resistance over the entire 8 year length of the Bush administration, but they are overwhelmed by the irresistable Democratic majorities in Congress, Justice, Treasury and every regulatory agency stacked with government-appointed liberal economists, not to mention the black flag anarchist gang running the banks and financial houses of the land. The commissars and their Red allies fold up their golden parachutes and retire to little Caribbean islands with names ending in vowels and hypersecretive banking systems to enjoy their ill-gotten gains while they plot their next outrage.

They never would have gotten away with this if REAL conservatives had been in charge!
