Daddy Warbucks got us into this mess, not the Liberal elite.

It wasn't Marxists, or college professors, rock stars, or radical priests or
Michael Moore, Alan Alda, or even anyone from France. It was the kind of people conservatives support and lionize and make excuses for. And it happened at the END, not the first few months, of a reactionary neocon administration whose supporters smugly reminded us every day how the economy was in such good shape that we didn't have to worry about anything, that it was all liberal pre-election propaganda. And it all went down without the slightest bit of warning from you guys until after the fact, when suddenly you know all the facts and knew them all along. No wonder you guys are in such a dither, if you really believed your own crap you wouldn't care whether we did or not.

Now we're supposed to ante up and bail out these guys, plus all the foreign oligarchs and plutocrats that are sucking on our cash hemmorhage, so your phony system can continue indefinitely and your Wall Street gangsters can continue their heroic entrepreneurial mission. Of course, Reaganian de-regulation is not the only cause of this unpleasantness. An expanding deficit and national debt played a role, as did our addiction to oil and foreign loans, consumer credit, as well as the incalculable greed of the financial community (which yes, probably has a lot of Democratic lobbyists and businessmen in it too, am I supposed to be shocked and awed into embarassed silence by this penetrating revelation?). No cigar, Warbucks. The main cause is guys in suits. Ecumenical Bipartisan Bloodsucking Capitalists if it makes you feel any better. Your heroes, your tribe, not mine. People who believe there is more value in trading and managing than there is in working and building. Sometimes the obvious answer is the right one, this is, after all, not all that complicated, as I have been reminded so often on other issues.

And I suppose there are plenty of websites and blogs and news reports that detail how it is mostly Republicans and not Democrats that are at fault that I could use to counter your pathetic desperation propaganda. But I can afford to be too lazy to spend any time plowing through it, because

1) you wouldn't accept it anyway,
2) the debate over details will let you distract us from the long-overdue exposure your corrupt and parasitic money culture is receiving,
3) I really don't care whether you believe I'm right or wrong or not, and
4) the whole lot of you is not worth the effort.

But please do keep publishing your catalogue of obfuscations, they do make for hysterical reading and I'm sure it is all being archived somewhere for the edification of future Zoners.

Besides, you shouldn't be wasting your breath trying to change our minds, you know we're hopeless because we're so pig-headed and ideological and deluded, right? I suggest you go down to Main Street and explain it to those folks instead, 'cause they want to know what's going on. Make sure you bring your charts and graphs too, I'm sure it will make them feel a lot better when they find out what's really happened to their pensions and their homes and their savings and their paychecks.

Damn! I love this job.
