Most light is invisible to us and we can't see it either. This unseen energy must be visible to some spectra and need not be imagined as some dark invisible mystery flow even though we can't yet measure or see it.
In an infinite universe there must be infinite dimesions and yet these dimensions have to be dual in nature - infinite and finite. So we have spectra. Looking at the material universe and its motions, one can look at it materially and that in some Newtonian manner it is bursting apart.
"Dark flow" is more apt, only in the sense that it recognizes the FLOW. All these galaxies and their movement need not be ascribed to some previous imparting of energy - but should be ascribed to a current influx of energy being channeled by their movement.
The big bang has collapsed as a viable cosmology, but conceiving an infinite flow has traditionally bothered many folks -especially those who are religious and conditioned to believe in the logical paradox concept of origins. That's why Hoyle, Bondi & Gold and steady state were so eagerly being second-guessed.
An infinite universe has no need of gods to create it. Statistically any science which proves the universe is "infinite" will theologically threaten 95% of the world's 7 billion inhabitants.

Actually one might as well call it a LIGHT flow.
