One would think they would at least apologize for misleading the country and world before they dangled the next round of 'expertise' out there. These guys have no shame.
Instead of explaining how they had failed to evaluate the system correctly, they insist that ANOTHER $800 billion must be committed IMMEDIATELY. Don't think, analyze, evaluate - there's no time. "We want the money right now and you can trust us to use it wisely."
There is a lot demonstrably wrong with this plan and the rest of it smells. Not the least is the credibility of the folks proposing and advocating it. George Bush, Henry Paulsen and Ben Bernanke are three. The Bush constiuency is the top 1% on the economic ladder, Paulsen is a child of Wall Street and Bernanke is acting like a lap dog.
The system may well be stressed as wealthy people have to become accountable for their "risky" investments. Isn't that what it's all about?
(And there are those who say these super-wealthy folks work hard for their money. Amazing.)
Arf
Bernanke - dead wrong up to now, still expecting Congress to believe him this time.
