Follow the threads on HZ, read the newspapers. No Republican has taken responsibility for the last 8 years. The failures in Afghanistan and Iraq, the incredible trade and budget deficits, the absolutely enormous unfunded liabilities in terms of military infrastructure. The Bush Administration has ignored the American infrastructure and did not use the surplus to fund the oncoming boomers.

Prediction: We will now see Conservatives blame the "entitlement programs" for the financial crisis we will find ourselves in. We will see Conservatives blame the Democratic party for everything. Period.

As an example TB on CE is blaming the Democrats for the bailout failure, even though more Ds than Rs voted for it. That sort of reasoning is obviously ridiculous, and that doesn't stop Conservatives. Just once I'd like to see them accept responsibility for the consequences of their actions.

And that will be a long wait. We have one on these Boards who preferred logic and reason over ideology, and that's just rare.
