How anyone can be so wrong, so long, about so much and still not learn is a marvel.
I can say I've lived to see it all. I would never have believed there were people out there so resistant to reality, so defended that facts are irrelevant, with a belief system which never, ever needed altering.
I believe the movie was "A Beautiful Mind". While not nearly as bright as the guy in the movie, very few people are, I think there is hope in that process for you. Buy the DVD, and watch that movie with an eye and ear for seeing how he challenged his hallucinations and came to participate in the same Universe as do his family, friends and the wider community.
That doesn't mean he has to agree with all of those, just that he can operate from the same reality.
I don't have any hope. One of the problems here is that some people believe the world is screwed up and they are well. And if they can find other people or blogs to reinforce the reality that they create their self-validated Universe in the Day Room and live in it.
I do wish you luck.
