A typical entry is here. There are links to Senate and Presidential information near the bottom. I find Wikipedia annoying, because it's one of many sites that my computer has a hard time processing, scrolling being an excruciating process.
I don't know what would have happened if Roosevelt hadn't decided to do what he did. If things hit the fan, Marxism had a lot more strength in this country than fascism did, but "populism" was big in general.
I have seen as many good references showing that Roosevelt prolonged the Depression as I have seen showing that he ended it. WWII might have had a little to do with it, too.
And what if Roosevelt had simply done some temporary emergency measures instead of trying to "remake" society from the bottom up?
As for "liberal prosperity," don't fall into the cum hoc ergo propter hoc trap that is common in politics. America was rich and productive in the post-war era because it WAS the post-war era, and we pretty much had a monopoly on Western industrial power. That lasted for years. I can still remember when "Made in Japan" was a joke, and "Made in China" is even more recent.
We didn't get where we were back then just because we had Social Security, New Deal safety nets, or massive wealth redistribution, otherwise the socialist paradises would have been rich.
Incidentally, "liberal" and "Democrat" aren't congruent sets, any more than "conservative" and "Republican." The Democrats of that time weren't exactly the Democrats we have today. In 1960, someone thinking "Democrat" would have been thinking about a steelworker or farmer. Lyndon Johnson would have beaten up Michael Moore.
