As I said, the fantasy is what's operating. Strictly the ideological creations.

His ideology says that Democrats believe certain things. Now that's his reality. And all Democratics are interested in promoting that which his ideology has told him are goals for liberals.

And that Conservatives believed in certain things, and that's reality. All Conservative actions are interpreted in a manner which allows them to fit the reality, no matter how contrary. It's by definition.

And so there is this imaginary Universe which obeys his ideological fantasys, and all things must fit his pre-constructed world.

It's immune to information from the real world, immune to logic, immune to anything which might contradict the ideology. For instance, environmental regulations are enforced at gunpoint, whereas taxing to spend on gratuitous wars isn't. Blowing up WTC was heinous (agreed) but "Shock and Awe", bombing Iraqi and Afghani civilians and destroying families in the Middle East in any number of ways is just the way it goes.

It's taken me years to figure this out because I haven't wanted to believe it. But there's just no access. And like Roman Catholics and the Pope, or Mormons and the Esteemed leader, if there is any adjustment necessary to the ideology he can just listen to Rush who will explain it.

Because Rush lives in the same fantasy-land. And they validate themselves much as the day-room inhabitants convince each other the world is crazy.
