The camera is about the length and width of a pack of king-size cigarettes. A bit thinner. The case is metal and the unit has a substantial heft. It feels solid.
There is a feature which demonstrates what any particular effect will do. That's a biggie for me. The pictures aren't those from a DSLR, but they are crisp and clear with a very nice depth of field. The flash fills in nicely when needed. I took pictures in a dark restaraunt the other day, and they turned out perfectly. I haven't taken a bad picture yet. Exposure and focus has been good.
Haven't tried it underwater. Have knocked it off my desk with no adverse effects.
I need a camera which if not simple at least leads one through the processes, is rugged and waterproof and small. It's perfect. A problem is the battery which is not a standard alkaline. However, I purchased 4 Li-on batteries with about 50% more capacity than OEM and it wouldn't be a problem carrying them along.
If anything develops that's negative I'll post it.
