It's strange that people who sneer at gods are so willing to give human beings that much power over our existence.
Who gets to decide at what point I become a slave? Does it eventually drop to $5 million? $100,000?
Will the glorious leadership have to cut back on their own luxuries too? Oddly, this never seems to happen in totalitarian societies.
