is the distortion that's occurred in my opinion where the very real individual rights and freedoms we've been granted in the Constitution have been assumed to be the same for corporations and groups of individuals. That gives those entities a huge advantage over the individual citizen both in the ability to generate wealth and to garner political power.

For instance, as an individual you are allowed the freedom of speech to write a scathing editorial letter or stand on a street corner and shout at the top of your lungs. By granting that equal freedom of speech to a corporation though, they have the ability to take an individual's message and buy a thousand messengers to deliver it with 10,000 watt megaphones. I'm pretty much certain that wasn't the intent of the framers since the individual stands no chance in that arena.
