Cuban-Americans don't all think alike on this issue
There's a big generational gap among Cuban-Americans regarding the sanctions, and the desired or acceptable degree of engagement with communist Cuba.
Older Cubans who lived through the era of the revolution and its ugly turn into a brutal communist dictatorship (and who experienced that personally) are much more hard-line and won't support the lifting of sanctions.
Younger Cuban-Americans born here in the states after their parents fled the island tend to have a much more open and flexible attitude towards engagement and the relaxing of sanctions. They're also much more likely to switch from their parents' Republican voting record and vote Democratic.
