I think we all need to take a step back. Just about everyone has made up their minds as to HOW they're going to vote so nobody is going to change anyone else's mind this late in the game (at least not on these boards). Take a deep breath. I've been way too invested and intense about this election. There is a helluva lot on the line but what is going to happen will happen and those of us here should keep courtesy in our human interactions instead of adding to the stress (well, except on flame). God knows, I'm stressed out enough from work during the week.
Jim and Jill Liberal like their wine at dinner and maybe a drink before. Food is an art, rather than just a necessity. They take food to the food shelter and donate blankets for the homeless. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, they can be found serving Turkey and dressing to seniors or the homeless.
They're raising their 1.5 children while paying attention to the latest psychobabble on the boob tube. They try to live Green and are reducing their carbon footprint. They stay on the left side of the stands at football games, basketball games and they love tennis, gluing themselves to the tube when Wimbledon or the US Open is on. Golf is a game for Conservatives but they play once in awhile if they're trying to pry open a Conservative's checkbook for a good cause.
If you want to piss one of them off, deny the reality of global warming. They worry that their children will not have it as good as they did and are trying their best to undo all the damage that has been done to the planet. They are a strange mix of self-sufficiency and emotional interdependence.
