but these things are so damn specific. The low-level stuff is transferrable - like drives and RAM (if it's the *right* RAM - and you've already got a hint that it's weird stuff) Other stuff "does not translate", unless you're an expert.

(there are a bunch of software utilities that stand between different bits of hardware and translate their messages as if they were another device. Most of this technology is in the DVD copy world, but sometimes it's useful for other things. Be aware you're slowing things down when you do this. Do you want a *GOOD* computer, or just a *computer*... ? )
