The Economy here is pretty good right now.

We learned from the 80's oil crunch when a lot of our banks went under. I don’t know the details, but I do know they changed some things so it would be harder to happen again. Our banks are doing okay.

It also helps that a lot of our economy is in the energy sector. It’s not just oil. I believe we have the largest wind energy production in the US.

Our housing market is not bad. In my area home prices were never over-inflated. In the 80’s you could by a 2500 sqft home for around 80 to 100K. Before the housing bubble burst you could get a 2500 sqft home anywhere between 140-160K in my area. After the housing bubble busted they are averaging around 150K.

So come on down. We have a good economy, mild winters and great Mexican food.
