That's where "people like you", and I use that term in jest, miss the boat. Fear has nothing to do with it. The whole "phobic" nonsense was started by the homosexual lobby as propaganda. People just don't like having their cherished cultural institutions turned completely upside down by fringe groups. What people choose to do in their personal lives is their own business. It's the forcing of thier lifestyle upon the larger culture in general that pisses people off.
FWIW, I do agree that laws need to be changed concerning private matters. People should be able to give power of attorney, visitation rights, and anything else to anyone they want. It's the legal side of marriage that most homosexuals would like to have avaliable to them, and I fully agree with them in that regard.
