I got you beat there
When the Hubble was first sent into space, a local radio station had
a "news" segment (I put news in quotes because this Top-40 pop
station's idea of news was some DJ reading a few blurbs for a few
minutes) about the Hubble Space MICROSCOPE. When they repeated
the news item later they said it again.
I finally called the station and talked to some intern about the error.
Even though he didn't seem certain if I was right about this or not,
they did correct the error later, so I suppose it was one small bucket
of water bailed out for a moment from the ocean of ignorance.
