No need for conjecture or television.

I've lived it and learned it. They don't teach that stuff on TV or in humanities.

One of the requisites of a good writer is to learn to experience things, within reason, to make ones writing more realistic for the readers. Experiencing the simultaneous burden/boon of an unlimited Amex card you can buy a Bentley with or experiencing the not-so-quiet terror of hearing people fight until it reaches the street and watching a desperate, beaten woman reach bottom & hit her man straight across the face with a waffle iron, and the man screaming even more in absolute shock and physical agony until the police finally arrive (always on the late side) to take both of them away....all this is just part of the well-rounded experience curve.
