I was at a cousin's son's birthday party last year. She married a Puerto Rican guy, and I remember thinking at the time, "Perhaps Salvadorans and Boricuas go together so well because despite some differences in culture and customs, Puerto Ricans are Americans, and Salvadorans THINK they're Americans. Heck, we're the only two peoples in Latin America dumb enough to follow George Bush into Iraq, and still be there 5 years later!"

And you're absolutely right, glancing from table to table at the party, to us it's pretty obvious who's Salvadoran and who's Puerto Rican, but try convincing someone like Techie that there's any diversity among Hispanics...
