Atheists set up "Holiday" display at state capitol

Olympia Washington

There is a nativity scene, a "Holiday" tree, and now this sign on display at the Washington State capitol.

At this season of
The Winter Solstice
May reason prevail.
There are no gods,
No devils, no angels,
No heaven or hell,
There is only our natural world,
Religion is but myth and superstition
That hardens hearts and enslaves minds.

I have no problem with the 1st Amendment issue here. I do have a problem with the active disregard for the beliefs of others. The sign as it reads is the height of rudeness and arrogance. For me, all they had to do was include the words "We Believe" right after "May reason prevail".

The "Freedom From Religion Foundation" might as well have put up a photo of the "Piss Christ"
