'92 '93 health care

Do you honestly believe that there was the political will out there in 92, just years after the 'Reagan Revolution' to do National Health Care? Do you think that maybe thats why Hillary and not Bill took point on it?

Do you honestly think it would now, 15 years later, be essentially a foregone conclusion that National Health Care will happen if it had not been tried and loudly failed 15 years ago? Don't you think that the last 15 years of Health Care Crisis and families under fire from medical bills have been framed by that failure? Don't you realize that the framing, and the failure, were politically necessary for its ultimate success?

Now, ask yourself the same question about Gays in the Military.

Do you think that Bill and Hillary were just doing this by happy accident, or that the 8 years of Clinton I were a set up for the final triumph of their policies in Clinton II?

Do you think it is a smart proposition or a dumb proposition that in Politics, sometimes Failing Big is not really failing at all? Do you think thats more or less consistent with how the world really works, even if it may offend your ideals?

Bowser- Liberals like you have lined up to cut the Clintons throat and dance merrily on their graves because they were not the progressive liberals you wanted, but rather the most progressive liberals they could be in the context of the 90s. They learned from carter and did not repeat those mistakes- but perhaps made new ones.

Now that Obama has also learned that lesson, and has chosen wisely instead of ideologically, will you now line up again to rail against another Democratic president? Or would you had preferred an ideologically driven 'reality proof' administration- you know, like the one we just struggled under for eight goddang years?!

Just wondering Bowser. I know you're not dumb. I know you can add it up. Even if you don't like what comes out.
