but I think she'll do a fine job at Secretary of State.
From numerous insider accounts into the Health Care initiative meetings, the consensus was that she was a micro-manager who did not embrace brainstorming but instead ruled with an iron fist. Her style caused many within the process to not work as diligently as they could have and that probably helped derail the plan. It was generally assumed that Bill gave her free reign to make the critical decisions. She was not simply an agent of his administration doing his bidding.
Secretary of State however is not a free-reign position. The very nature of that post is that the policies are created by the President and all aspects of negotiations including style and substance are dictated by the Oval Office. The people Hillary will be dealing with will not be subordinates and underlings but equals in foreign governments. A micromanagement style will not work in those types of talks.
I believe Hillary has mellowed and learned since those days of being First Lady. That initial experience had to have been a humbling thing. She now seems to do well in the Senate where she must work with equals that would not allow her to railroad an agenda through.
I did not support her in the bid for the Presidency (although I would have had she won the primary) because that micromanagement style often comes from deep personal insecurities which worry me a great deal with that type of power. I was greatly afraid that, when faced with a foreign threat, she'd feel compelled to out-macho the men to prove her mettle. I didn't see that insecurity in Obama. His responses to stress were always measured and analytical.
It's not about Hillary hating although there were some strong emotions created during the heat of the primary especially when she brought up shades of the end of RFK's campaign. In the end however she proved classy and much of the bad campaigning could be attributed to her horrible staff.
