First, I believe there was the will to reform health care at the time, and that it could have been possible. And that Hillary went about it in a way which pissed everyone off and made it impossible. Not only that, she empowered the people who opposed her and the American people wound up the worse off.
As for Hillary or Bill, that was the time of the 2 for the price of 1 Presidency, and it was Hillary's big chance.
Third, the egomaniacal way she approached that reform is exactly what isn't needed in a Secretary of State. The kind of person who would campaign against an opponent who had already beat her, spending money she didn't have and giving aid and comfort to the Republicans instead of supporting Obama early is exactly what isn't needed in a Secretary of State.
She cried "sexism" and ignored the issue of Obama's race. She lied in very petty ways, in ways which were certain to be caught out and meant nothing even if they weren't.
I am praying these issues involving character will not get in the way of her serving America. On the other hand, I believe she and Bill are willing to wreck anything for their own selfish ends. I haven't seen either of them not put themselves first in the political world.
And that's too bad. She is very bright. As a younger woman she was involved in many noble and charitable projects. I think at one time she did see past herself, and hopefully she can find it in herself to do so again.
