You are fighting the system the wrong way, but what ever works for you.
Besides take a look at car price comparisons and you will see you are over exaggerating the cost difference compared to 50 years ago.
Now take a look at median household income comparisions and consider the 1956 average cost of a car was $2750 which would be around 57% of income. For 2006 the average cost of a car is $22651 which is only around 39% of 2006 income.
I read a few months ago the cost of fuel per hour of wages was way down compared to when fuel was only around 35 cents per gallon.
We may not be rolling in lush beds of 4 leaf clovers, but it isn’t all that bad these days.
