Pause and enjoy

Nature always satisfies. The mountains are like big blankets to me; when I am away from them for long, I can't wait to dive into them. They are Home. I live between two mountains, and whenever I drive up and over either of them, the sunlight catches them differently, or the clouds or the season frames them differently every day. And it's a reminder. A reminder of the very planet that is our Home, how beautiful she is.

The very air up here gives me sustenance. I just visited my family and friends down in Florida and hated the lifeless, souless lifestyle. Nothing to look at but 10` of horizon. All scrub, all brown. The state is dying. Nothing but retirees everywhere. You can drive down there with your brain shut off. It's all either north or south, and the only change you see are either stop signs or stoplights. I got stuck on I-95 in traffic for over an hour and a half in holiday traffic and drove through a tornado in Palm Bay. I asked myself what I was doing there. I couldn't WAIT to get back!

As soon as I stepped out into the open here and that fresh mountain air hit me, I knew why I live here. Because I am closer to nature and I honor my time here more. I feel more connected. I'll have to upgrade my flickr pages for you and throw in some recent photos of the area. It's inspiring; especially the gorge.

Here's the area where I <live.>
