I'm happy because as far as I can tell Coleman was clearly the greater of the two evils, a poster child of bullying and corruption. Now why we end up with film and radio celebrities, former sports figures, and beauty pageant contestants for US Senate races astounds me.

Franken is definitely not up to the intellectual standards I prefer for national office holders but I think he's at least got his heart in the right place.

I never really enjoyed his humor either. It was nothing more than silly and benign which will probably sum up his political career as well.

Minnesota, get your shit together and find some really bright people to run for public office (hint, don't emulate Arizona) or, if you must elect comedians, try to find one that actually makes us laugh our asses off.
