I have no idea what it was but I have seen a brown recluse here before, in the bedroom.
And I killed it. And this is a fairly new house. I don't know about any holes, but I had welts the size of a dime and they were large and puss filled. I got sick for days and my urine was cloudy and strong. Massive doses of vitamin C, benadryl and then a good drying benadryl cream for the welts finally calmed it down. I had welts for weeks. Maybe months.

Then I stopped wearing cologne. But also that night, there was a stinging insect in the house I had tried to kill before going to bed, then lost it. Could have been that damned thing as well. Exacting it's revenge.

Once before I got sick with a spider bite on the back of my leg and used fresh garlic compresses on it. Killed the poison and burned a hole in my skin. By the time I got to the doctor, the poison was all gone. or so he said. Never underestimate the power of garlic.
