Go ahead and "regulate" the pay of CEOs.
What are you going to set the maximum at? A million? Ten million? Two million? Half a million? A given percentage of the lowest pay grade in the company? Something randomly picked out of a jar?
Who gets to decide? Who is able to quantify a "fair" salary on anything but a completely arbitrary basis? A Star Chamber of Wealth Redistribution? Nancy Pelosi? The President? Or do we take an internet poll so every envious little loser in America can cut the CEOs down?
What are you going to do to make up the taxes these people aren't going to be paying any more? Did you remember that the top 1 percent pays 40 percent of the income taxes in this country? New York City is finding this out right now.
You can't redistribute wealth that no longer exists.
And once you've cheered those "CEOs" being taken to the cleaners, you'd better hope they don't decide you have too much. Because when the pickings at the top get thin, they'll come after the rest of us.
