If Obama's programs fail, well, the financial system will collapse.
Really?
Obama's programs are already under way. The Great "Stimulus" Package has been signed and delivered. He has laid out his 2010 budget, along with his predictions, told us what his plans are, and established his economic philosophy in no uncertain terms. Obama has told America what he's going to do for--or to--the economy, who he's going to reward, and who he's going to punish.
How's that going so far? Are businesses hiring? Is the stock market climbing?
Does it bother you at all that he's working a lot harder on programs to further his agenda than he is on, say, actually stimulating the economy?
It's kind of funny to watch liberals who used to scream about people equating Bush's success with America's success treating Obama like the frigging Corn King.
He doesn't know what he's doing. Let me repeat that: Barack Obama does not know what he's doing. He is miles out of his depth. His ideas are not good ones. They weren't good ones twenty years ago, and they aren't good ones now. His ideas are going to make things worse.
Conservatives have almost no actual political power now. Obama's "stimulus" passed the House without a single Republican vote. Obama does not need Republicans to do what he wants now.
The only thing Republicans have is ideas, and intellectual opposition. It's significant that this scares the crap out of Democrats much more than opposition in the House and Senate does.
