There is a difference between economic systems and political systems. You really, really should learn that.

You savage Europeans as "socialist", and yet they are generally democracies.

The USSR was not a democracy, but read this carefully. Stalin was an ideologue who cared nothing for human beings in his quest to create a communistic economy. It wasn't communism that was the problem, it was the unreasoning pursuit of ideology. Sound familiar? Who else do we know who doesn't care about people in the pursuit of ideology?

Economic systems don't really matter. Jesus lived a communistic life. It's people who are important, not supporting failed capitalism at the expense of people.

And that's the tragedy of the American Conservative. You'd rather see the country fail than work to pull it back from the precipice unregulated capitalism has driven it. It's the same thinking as of the religious people who would rather see their children die than provide ungodly medical care. Blind ideology.

But you really need to explain how it is that socialism leads to totalitarian dictatorships and how Europe can be socialist and democratic.
