Do you think that the King Arthur legend could be real?

Of course I don't have a clue...and if anyone can recommend some serious readage on the subject I would greatly appreciate it.

I was watching Barbarians II ...the Saxons, yesterday on the History Channel...and as it turns out I am fascinated with this subject.

Is there mythology interwoven with Arthur?...of course a debate can be made for the Jesus, also in this area.

I was wondering if the Britons needed a hero....so Arthur was therefore *born*.

Any thoughts?
