I believe we can safely characterize the Conservative economic agenda as that which maximizes profits over the short-term. Anything which gets in the way of that weakens the country, is anti-American, unpatriotic and just plain bad. The only proper economic consideration for any government is to maximize short-term profit for corporations thereby providing for strength, resolution and maximizing the return on investments. With high short-term profits, long-term profits will take care of themselves.
Workers wages - high wages cut into profits. Low wages cut into profits. Wages are a necessary evil, should be as low as possible in order to protect profits. Low wages are good for workers, allow more to be hired.
Workers compensation - protecting injured workers. Rewards unsafe workers, often used by workers to malinger, is a direct attack upon profits. Is bad for the vast majority of workers who are not injured at the time.
Unemployment compensation - a way to transfer wealth from the productive to the unproductive at the cost of profit. Is bad for workers who are still employed.
Workers benefits - purchased out of profits for the use of the worker, not the corporation.
Health insurance - a benefit to the worker and family. Should be purchased by the beneficiary, not the corporation. The corporation should not dictate to the employee how to take care of his or her family.
Pension - of use to the worker after worker has ceased being productive. Should be purchased by the beneficiary and not be stolen from profit. A direct assault upon the welfare of the productive employee.
Workers unions - another direct attempt to steal profits. An attempt to inflict a profit-sucking monopoly upon corporations and the public.
Public education - a tax-sucking enterprise which usually teaches subjects unrelated to maximizing profits for corporation. On-the-job training subsidized by taxes on those workers who directly benefit is far better than tenured professors teaching philosophy.
Employer associations - increase efficiency, cooperation, legislative impact and work to decrease regulations and support sympathetic politicians. Provides lip service to noble causes while preventing effective interventions. Promote efficiency and profit thorough multi- corporation cooperation in competitive areas. Should be promoted and paid for by legislature as being of supreme benefit to workers who stay employed.
Environmental concerns - inhibit efficiency and cost money which comes directly out of profits.
Taxes - On corporations are a direct assault on profits.
On wage-earners, hourly workers, are good. Those pay for the roads, schools, sewage treatment plants, things they used disproportionately. After all, there are many more of them.
Taxes on wage-earners which are spent on high-margin items and subsidies protect profits and the workers. They are good.
Profit is what protects the economy and therefore the country. Obviously anything which gets in the way of profit is not good for the country. Taxing corporate profits inhibit hiring, providing benefits inhibits hiring, protecting the environment inhibits hiring and are therefore bad for the country.
When one thinks "profit" one must also think of a strong, free country, flag flying high, under God, a powerful army protecting the corporate empire. Nothing can be more important. If there be any distress in the country, cutting taxes on corporations and the super-wealthy who are synonymous with those corporations will cure it.
