How far does the nest or hive have to decline in order for the collective drive to be extinguished? What does that consciousness look like, of what is it aware, does it predict, how does it compute?"

Everyone searches for that Intelligence just outside our own consciousness that we feel connected to. We see evidence of intelligence in the array of plant life, the movement of the stars and the wonder of a baby's smile and gaze. We hit highs and are "in the flow" when something great happens to us! A lucky strike...."look at that!". And we can find ourselves in the depths of despair when things go wrong, ...we lose a family member to an accident, a cancer diagnosis, loss of a family fortune. It's times like these we have dialog with ourselves. If that dialog runs in circles, then we look outside ourslves for comfort and for answers.

Where is the It? Where does it reside?
Personal strength? Religion? Belief in an afterlife? How about 72 virgins?
The questions are endless.
