And with failure comes even more suffering for the American people.

Your analogy may have some accuracy.

Inside that drawer lies the hopes and prayers of the American people. There will be costs associated with those, which will take money away from the super-wealthy if the drawer is opened and the bills paid. The policies of the Bush years have filled that drawer with more and more bills, then glued it shut, nailed it shut, screwed it shut and blocked it with furniture.

Dynamite is the only way to open it. And will do a lot of damage itself. But the Bushies really, really glued and nailed and screwed.

And if the dynamite doesn't do it, nothing will.

But the folks with the nail gun, screw gun and glue do not want it open. Do not want those dreams come true for the American people. They have theirs, and they're hanging on. The hell with the rest of the people.

Even while saying they want nothing more than the American dream for the Iraqis. Go figure.
