...cleverly reframing the argument so that anyone who is the slightest critic of unregulated predatory capitalism has no alternative but to be cast as a total and complete collectivist-socialist determined to institute some People's Democratic Republic. You refuse to admit there is a middle ground, it has to be your way or nothing. Sorry, that won't wash.
Those rhetorical tactics won't work here any more, TB, we're hip to your scam, and they aren't working in America any more either because it's learned the same lesson the hard way, in (dare I say it?) the free market, the stock market, the real estate market and the banks. We are going to have the benefits of capitalism but we're going to do our damnedest to make sure the middlemen and parasites play by the same rules the rest of us have to follow.
Roosevelt already saved capitalism from its own greed once. Now no one can predict the future, but I think it would be a delicious irony if Obama saved it from its own greed again. And you better hope he can, because you guys had your chance in the first decade of the 21st century and you blew it, along with most of the nation's credit, cash productive capacity and financial reserves, as well.
Not that I think you will give Obama any more credit than you gave FDR, no matter how well he does.
