I agree whole heartedly.

I've been watching our economy with interest for over 25 years.

Something is definitely out-of-whack, and has been for quite some time. The economy was long over heated and had been growing hotter every year. The wealthy became the mainstream and production was geared to their tastes- that is one of the reasons we're in the mess we are today.

Luck plays a part, so does nepotism but more importantly a persons willingness to take risks in starting a business, pursuing a profession or finding other ways to make a living from creativity is what sparates the successful from the rest. Being born into a wealthy family doesn't hurt though.

I'm just not sure about "pursuing policies". The idea of wealth redistribution is wonderfully academic but do we really know the consequences of leftward shift to the bell curve- imposed by people in power with all their faults and human weaknesses ?
