Specter's constituency has already moved to another party. Why shouldn't he go with them?

Those who remain Republicans but still want to vote for him, or against him, can do so in the general election.

The thing is, he will still be who he is, "Snarlin' Arlen", who will tell any leadership to take a hike if the occasion warrants. We know that here.
