A kid was convicted of participating in the rape of his 12 year old cousin when he was 13. He is now being offered, 5 years later, a football scholarship to a Tennesee University. His record since the crime is clean
A debate is raging over whether he should be allowed a scholarship with this sex crime on his record. Lots of hanging judges among football fandom.
I understand the horrific nature of the crime of rape but I have a hard time condemning a 13 year old for life when no death was involved.
Some things are so bad that there is no room for redemption, but sex crimes involving 13 year old kids don't meet the criteria imo. The cousin is said to have forgiven him.
Opinion is running strongly against him on the sports boards. I just wondered how it would be seen here
Something a little different
